I know people that have success on Lake Striker drifting. I have not tried it on Lake Palestine , but would be interested in a " How To "
also.

water depth , areas to target ,and any other tips would be appreciated

Very nice! I caught quite a few last week in open water and figured it was about that time. They still aren't in the creeks in any numbers

Sorry guys I'm later getting back on here, but battling a kidney stone today. Going have it removed in the morning. With that said I have only done this on 3 different lakes all in East Tx.. I know those lake fairly well. 1 lake is not a very deep lake (20-25 ) fow. Mostly 20 -22. I usually fish 18 to 22 fow. You need a 5-15 mph wind with 10 to 12 the best. I fish with a 2 hook set up with 1/2- 1 oz weights on end of line with 1 hook about 2-3" about them with a 6" leader off main line. The second hook about 18 to 24 " about first hook. I used minnows. This lake has no brushes are trees in it except in the upper end.. I usually start around Sam if wind from the south. The other two lake are deeper 32-35 fow will fish the 30 fow when it gets colder like late December or early January. With same rigging as I describe above. Look at above pictures first will give you and ideal how it looks. Hope this helps. I have wondered if it would work in Palestine also. Wind is very Important to have.

The key would seem to be moving with the bait as fished for stripes and hybrids. We catch crappie, a few while deadsticking using this same technique , drifting over bait. Don't know his technique , however would like to know..
