And I’m confusing myself thinking about it.

If I have a 12v battery and 2 chargers that put out 5 amps each (just an example), if I hook both chargers to the battery, does it now charge at 10 amps combined or still just 5 amps??? I would think it’s only charging at 5 amps, but then I’m like maybe it’s getting 5 amps twice. bang

you will only get 5 amps, I would not double up chargers though as one may make the other think the battery is more charged than it actually is.

That is referring to 2 outputs from the same charger. The op asked about connecting 2 separate chargers, totally different.

Battery charging is a function of volts and amps. Chargers and alternators put out voltage higher than the battery and limit the max current that the battery can draw. As the battery charges and the battery voltage rises the charging current reduces until the voltage equalizes. Two chargers may not put out identical voltage and charge at the exact same rate, but they will get the job done almost twice as fast.

Found a more thorough explanation on it. Bottomline is all charging sources are likely regulated.
