45 years owner experience.

Best advice I can give is keep it to the bare minimum, especially silver. No matter how well you maintain it or store it the flake (not the gelcoat) will begin to fade over time and trying to match flake size if repairs are needed is hit and miss at best.

+1, when I ordered my Ranger in 1985 I opted for the ZR hull which is metal flake on the sides. It looked good when new and for the first 10 years. I like what I have now which is white with a small accent strip just below the rub rail.

if you need to match the flake, hobby lobby.

got mine there for a few gel coat patches on the last champion, it was silver small flake.
