Just wanting to see how many are using instead of Garmin Livescope. I have all Lowrance in my boat and bought a Carbon 12 and wanted to get a AT Transducer. How is this working for you? Any troubles seeing the brushpiles and/or Trees as you pull up to them? Had heard Livescope sees brush better but Lowrance AT sees the fish better. Thoughts?

The Garmin Live scope seems to be the more popular but I`ll say this "I can see BRUSH PILES,TREES,STUMPS ,BRIDGE PILLINGS & FISH just as good with my Active Target System with no problems at all.The only difference i`ve found is in the Live Scope cone angle & the LS settings adjustability. Lowrance has a narrower cone angle & fewer setting to adjust. If I had no other units on my boat maybe I would have gone Garmin but with my Lowrance system I can use my Lowrance live 9 &12 inch units with my Active Target without having to buy a stand alone unit just to support live technology. It`s mere Plug & Play w/lowrance. I can view the Active Target image at my console as well as at the bow. IMHO

IMHO I have always used Lawrence, however, the Active Target was not compatible with my HD gen2. Had to purchase new screen either way in order to capture new technology . Too many positives with regard to Garmin , therefore an easy decision for me.

My AT works great. They both have their negatives. Garmin ghost tree would drive me insane. But Lowrance has a narrower cone angle and less adjustability to the picture. You pretty much get what you get.
I can backlash toilet paper.

If any of you AT users get the chance this weekend, I’d sure like to see a pic or two of brush/trees on your graph.

For crappie fishing, best to stick with the originators...

Nice you tube video showing each. I plan to crappie fish so brushpiles 10ft from the boat and 15-25ft under the boat.

Haven't seen AT or Mega Live in person. But I can tune my Livescope much better than the images shown in this comparison.

I've been using AT for the past six months and like it! I'm a Lowrance user and didn’t want to add a separate device to see the crappie, so I waited for AT, and I am glad I did.

The narrower cone angle of AT provides a better long shot (clearer) than LS. Up closer (most crappie) the LS excels. This is one reason a lot of bassers are going AT instead of LS. AT also has better correction for the seams than LS. You have to look close to tell, but it does, presuming your unit is dialed in. If not, the seams of LS can be noticeable. The ghost tree of Garmin has been mentioned. I find it easy to disregard. It was very annoying at first but I changed my attitude to its there, deal with it. The ghost isn't always on my unit, usually in shallower water.
I'd put it this way. If I didn't have either and someone were to give me LS or AT, I'd take it in a hard beat, no matter the warts.
