Anyone been lately? I'm hearing the netting has been reduced and the lake is getting back to its hey day and if that's the case might need to make a trip down there in '22.

I was there in March and I can assure you the nets are still there and thicker than ever.

I'm going in two weeks for a 4 night/3.5 day fish week, so I'll make a report when I return. The WiFi situation there is pretty terrible, my last time out.

Was down there 2 years ago and water level was really low. Fishing was really good. I get the Ron Speed emails from time to time and just recently they were saying water levels were way up. Water all the way up to the camp. The fish are probably just more scattered out making it harder to find them.

If you need any information on El Salto, my wife and I have put together a list of articles about our trips: Ultimate Guide to El Salto and PicachosShe can also get you booked at Anglers Inn. I have not been to any of the other lodges on the lake, so cannot compare, but we've been to AI ~20 times and we're headed back in January and June. Happy to answer any questions in this forum or via private message.
