Took a picture of this mushroom. I sent picture to a friend that takes pictures of mushrooms, she said it is totally edable and that it has a sting taste to it 🤢. Would you fry it up and eat it?

if they are growing out of wood, they are usually ok
we have a different, yet similar mushroom
growing on a stump in back

Many mushrooms are edible, but proper identification is often difficult and there are many poisonous mushrooms that are similar to edible ones. If you want to eat wild mushrooms make sure you have a proper identification.
