I drive a Jeep Wrangler. The headlights are not good. I live in deer country…it is better to see them as early as you can.

I am thinking of replacing them with better lamps. I like the light from the halogen lamps…but some, even on dim, are blinding when you pass them on a dark country road. I don’t want to be that guy.

Anyone have experience with high output that are not dangerous to approaching opposite direction traffic.

Have the same dilemma, would love to have them on my truck, but don't want to cause a wreck. Do you have a brush guard on your jeep. Those go a long way to mitigate deer collision damage to you vehicle.

Go LED, lots of options for Jeeps.

My wife had that issue on her '16 Rav she drives to work. We went halogen and it's way, way better for us. Don't get asked for dims very often.

Make the change to the high output.

And get a brush/deer guard.

I encounter the same problem with my 2015 Wrangler. I put up with the headlights for about 6 months before I replaced them. Get you a set of JW Speakers. They are plug 'n play, meaning you don't have to do any wiring. The only drawback is the price.

Is there anyway to mount some aftermarket fog lights? Might be cheaper and you could have a separate switch for them.

I have a 10 mile country road drive at 5 am. Then I get on the highway. Every morning I deal with some jerk that won't lower his high beams. I wait until they're as close as possible before I high beam them. Brand new headlight assemblies give them a nice blinding light. Can't stand people who won't dim them.

As for your situation PH. I agree with fog lights. Will give you a better sight line without encountering Jenks like me that will blind you back.

There are some great LED headlights for Wranglers but they're not cheap. JW Speaker and Quadratec Gen IIs are some of the best. I have some cheapie LEDs from Amazon in mine and while they're better than stock, they could be better for country roads. One of these days I'll break down and get the good ones but we don't drive it very often.

I just installed a pair of LED's on my stepdaughters Wrangler and I'll agree with the above. Very easy job too

JWSpeaker makes great headlights.

But…I have two sets of 2020 Jeep Wrangler HID headlights in the break room at work. I don’t know if they are backwards compatible with other years. I know they WOULDNT have fit my 2012 I had. These things are rather large.

have that type on the f150, projector beam hid, they will light things up on high but have a flat low beam with a lot of spread and don't blind others.

Yep.

Most of those lights you see that are super bright are not DOT legal. There are.
