Thank goodness Fall has arrived. It’s time to fish.. Recently a couple minor cold fronts blew in and the falling temperatures have fish on the move. The Fall bite has started and fishing is good in certain areas but the best is yet to come. Quality fish and good numbers will be caught. From now to December the bite will be exciting in many ways. The shallow bite will be a blast and the schooling fish will be turning on as well. As always Amistad has several patterns but one or two will dominate in the quality. The topwater bite is always fun but for me its hard to put down the extra large swimbaits. Largemouth seem to have no boundaries when it comes to prey. Large gizzard shad tails can be seen in the throats of some fish while at the same time they are still chasing others. Its like the kid in the candy store that just cant get enough haha. For me its exciting to see large fish inches from your lure then turn and explode in a split second. In a tournament last weekend on Whitney the camera crew followed us and I caught a 7 1/2 and a 4 on a large homemade swimbait. I had another fish much larger follow it to the boat. To catch it would have made my day... fun fun fun... Please call text or email if youre interested in a day on the lake. Thanks, Stan (830) 768-3648[Linked Image] [Linked Image]

Familiar spots for me after 40 years on Big Friendly! Nice crappie incidentally!

Yesterday a family reunion. I found all species including a frog on the surface kicking for his life.
