I installed a new Elite EF chart with a 3 in 1 transducer. I looked at the transom and I mounted it in the same spot, opposite side of the boat from the 2D sonar transducer I already have.

Got it out on the water for the first time yesterday at the Catfish Get together on Lewisville. I have a shadow from the motor. Question - Is there a way to mount it where the motor isn't an issue? If I trim the motor up, it's fine but I was wondering if there is a way to install it short of adding a jack plate that will eliminate the shadow.

I raise my motor up when using mine. Not all the way, as I'm still slowly cruising looking for structure. But enough that I can get a scan of the port side.

Would have to see a picture of the back of the boat to see what were working with. Im sure there has to be a different place that the ducer can be mounted though.

You oughta see what it does on a pontoon boat!. I need to lower mine about a foot lower than it is now, to get rid of the ping off the toons.

Z,

I am fighting the same thing. Thought about making a longer bracket, but dont want to tear it off with a drift sock, etc. Definitely an issue on a Toon...

I never remember to take pictures when I'm at the lake. All I think about when I'm there is getting on the water and I usually fish until I have to hurry my butt home so I don't get in trouble...

I have the same problem looking to the port side as my transducer is mounted on the starboard side.My tilt/trim went out back in early summer so raising the motor is not an option.I actually found an improvement.........I use a pair of Helix 7's,one is mega SI.In normal mode looking both left and right out 50' my 7" screen never really told me anything. Now I always just use full right screen out to 70-75' and make passes in the opposite direction.I can see more than I ever have and finally I am starting to understand SI plus making it my most useful bait finder. On bigger units 12-15"s this may not be feasible but units with a smaller screen this is the only way to go.

On my old toon. I got another transducer and mounted it on the other side. Added a splitter cable and one transducer did one side the other the opposite
