Most of my rods are in the "A" price range but I have one new Falcon in "B" price range.

Weekend fun fisherman, all of mine are under $125. Dobyns Fury is a pretty good fit for me. venture into Phenix NRX rods....you wont turn back....at least for bottom contact bait rods FIFY Thanks but I have no interest in spending that much on a rod (NRX). There is a rod that is more sensitive than the NRX in my on the water test and it is less expensive. That is compared to 4 other brands of rods that I have that are in the $550+ range.

Rods for moving baits, low to mid Cs. Rods where bite detection matters, high Cs.

With myself only a few years into playing this club tournament game and now with one fishing in college and two others that fish recreationally I cant afford to get out of the B range, for the most part. I do buy everything usually at the right times, Skeeter TFO specials, Dobyns at discount, Kistler's with discount offerings, when manufacturers offer discounts mainly.
I have been fishing Kistler's Magnesium line this year and for the price I really like it for what it is worth, ( purchased at discounts when offered) but by no means do I know or understand rod values like some of the folks here.

I'm another Dobyns Fury user. I've had no complaints with either of the 2 Fury's I own. Both are durable and sensitive enough to my liking. The only way I'd buy a more expensive rod is if I were able to fish a lot more than what I do. With having a wife and two kids, and 30 years away from retirement, I'm going to be using rods in the market for those $100 - $125 rods. Expensive rods and reels are really just a luxury. Kind of like expensive golf clubs. Can you tell a difference in high quality vs low quality, yes you can. Is the highest quality of clubs going to lower your handicap 10 strokes, absolutely not. You can still catch biggins' even with the most basic fishing gear out there. I'm sure there will be people who disagree, but this is just my $.02.

Although I have plenty of rods under $200, most of the ones I use currently and have bought in the past couple of years retail for over $200.
C for me.
