We are down to 12 pickups in our fleet of cab and chassis diesel pickups. All Dodge and Ford automatics with flatbeds, a couple CDL 450's, most are 350 one tons and we run right at 26000 pounds gross to keep them under CDL requirements. We have H EEEE double L hockey sticks with the emissions on the diesel pickups. To the tune of $1000 to $1500 dollars unscheduled maintenance for every 10000 miles we put on them. I just got back one Ford F350 from the dealer where they replaced everything, and I mean everything emissions related and the Turbo. Been in the shop 7 weeks total.
So, after a 12 month wait, I just picked up our newest F350 with the 7.3L Godzilla V8 gas pickup. Drove it 60 miles this morning empty and it feels pretty torquey, got plenty of power empty, and averaged 13 MPG on the highway. Gonna get some real-world comparisons over the next year on the reliability of the gas versus the diesel in light duty trucks. It’s got Ford’s 10 speed and a 4.30 rear end. Check back next year for my review!!

The gasser has half the torque as the powerstroke, but that 4.30 sure will help. They also make their peak torque at 4,000 RPMs so it is a little bit of a learning curve for someone coming out of a diesel. Dont be scared to let her scream a little!
Id be interested in your results since you actually use your trucks as they are intended and not someone who buys them as a novelty!

what's going on with the emissions ? EGR ? My daughter and her husband started hotshotting , He has a dodge and GMC super duty

what's going on with the emissions ? EGR ? My daughter and her husband started hotshotting , He has a dodge and GMC super duty Drivers letting them idle too much is my guess. Their not the diesels of years ago where you can do that. Quit idling and 99% of the emission problems will go away

what's going on with the emissions ? EGR ? My daughter and her husband started hotshotting , He has a dodge and GMC super duty EVERYTHING!!!!! EGR, Cats, Particulate Filter, Def tank, Def sensors, all the rest the sensors, fuel system, turbos, etc. You name it. I have yet to have a ford or dodge go over 100000 miles without $6000 dollars or way more in emissions repair. I have heard good things about the GM, but they stopped making cab and chassis trucks as far as I know.

Amen, on that. I've got a fleet full of 550's all around 40-70,000mi on them. Two are in the shop for transmissions right now, which is a miracle it's not engine/DEF related for once. I have a Tremor on order with a 7.3, I'm not taking my chances with the DEF stuff right now.

I have a Tremor on order with a 7.3, I'm not taking my chances with the DEF stuff right now. I've read there are some simple affordable modifications you can do and get over the 500 hp to 600 hp without supercharger or turbos. Also read plenty of straight liners have hit even bigger HP with major bolt on mods on a out of the crate engine. First push rod old school V8 ford has made in 20 years. Time will tell.

I’ve been reading a few 7.3 forums on FB, seems to be decent luck with them. Sounds like the little 6.2 is the more reliable motor in the Superduty gasser fleet. I would like to buy one, just not real fond of this whole order only thing. Think I might wait to see how the 2023’s look.

My plumbers run 75 trucks. He switched to all Chevys with about 2/3 gas. He says his repairs are half of what they were.
