Great article with lots of good information. I personally use a 6’6” ugly stik instead of a 12’ rod. roflmao I also use mono instead of braid, however braid is good for buffalo. Finally, I catch lots of them on a fly rod. hooked but it takes lots of patience.

I catch them by putting range cubes in an area 16 to 25 Ft deep and fishing over them with canned sweet corn. Uglystick with 12# mono, hook #6 or #8 only big enough for 2 kernals of corn, at the slightest twitch of the pole tip, set the hook. Watch your drag, they are a blast to catch. They will come back again and again, So if you lose one you will probably catch the same fish 20 minutes later with your 1rst hook in its mouth.
