I have a trip to Lake Amistad planned in early November. I have never fished the lake and see the water level is down over 40'. Generally what should I expect the fishing to be like, suspending, chasing shad, hanging on ledges, etc. Also what is a good launch with the lake so low.

Good for a heart attack if you can’t catch a ride up the hill, go to Air Force not quite as bad!

With the lake being down so much will there still be grass on the shoreline or is this grass that is submerged on humps and ledges?

There is grass just off the shoreline. There is also grass down to 21 ft in some locations. Off the shoreline depends on the area of the lake. Drops/ledges are working.

Get a map and run in the river and channels. You can be in 80 feet of water and within a minute be in a foot of water. The bottom of Amistad is mostly rock. Not a place you want to run up on. Good luck, catch some big ones!

I swore I wouldn’t complain about Diablo ever again after launching at the high bridge.

They need an O2 tank and defibrillator at the halfway point.

roflmao hilarious! My bro in law wanted to set jug lines a few months back, I told him that I was not parking the truck if he was set on going to Amistad. I think he lost a few lbs walking the ramp.

Lol, I don’t think he’ll ever go back, unless we can launch at Box Canyon.
