Thinking about late January trip to Falcon. Planning on bringing the 5th wheel for a week. Where's the best place to camp? State Park or Lakefront Lodge or some place else that I haven't heard of?
We can go anytime we want to, so should we wait until February or stick with January?

The state park is pretty nice but there’s a campground at the corner of the Falcon Heights 4-way stop too that I think is free. No amenities like electric or water dump though.
As far as timing I’ll say Falcon bass are really finicky with cold fronts. They hate them and will come up with a case of lockjaw.
Let me know when you make it down!

If you can come anytime you want, then keep an eye out for a warming trend in late January or February..
Lakefront is fine for a RV or Amigo Inn is a quieter and smaller off the path good place to stay..
Call me if I can help..
