Have narrowed my decision to one of the two. Cost is about the same for each. Going with the Green Mirror lens. Most likely glass over polycarbonate. Will be used almost exclusively for fishing. Any opinions on which is the better option? Need a regular fit...not large/wide.

No one is going to be able to tell you a better option for you. Its all about how they fit. The fantail fit a medium size melon and the Tuna Alley a Large size melon...Best to try them on and make your own decision. We should have both in stock if you want to come try them on

I wear Fantails...have 3 pair and love them. As stated above, you should go try them on. They are a medium fit and not a good fit for anyone with a larger dome.

Fantail put too much pressure on my head behind my ear. Tuna alley are huge and way too big.

Thanks for the input. Probably safer to try them all on. I know I want the green mirror lens. Don't necessarily care about frame color. Would prefer something that does a good job eliminating light that comes in from the sides. That's about the extent of my needs list for the Costas. I know for sure I will be either a medium or a regular fit...definitely not large so that eliminates Tuna Alley.

Costas are subpar since they were acquired by Luxottica. Read some of their customer service reviews.

Also, I'd recommend poly carbonate. They are shatter resistant and much lighter and better for fishing. There's no difference in lens clarity, just a heavier pair slipping down your nose and putting weight on your ears.

I recently purchased the blackfin frames with the plastic lens. They are just a little larger than fantail, but are still a hair tight for me. I think they will get better after some use. I prefer plastic due to shatter resistant and lighter weight myself.

People that buy glass and bass fish baffle me.

When a weight hits them on a missed hook set, the backside looks worse and even a tiny piece of glass in your eye can cause you to lose your eyesight.

Are you absolutely set on Costa? I was a Costa guy for about 15 years, great glasses that I really can’t give any negative reviews on. 2 warranty repairs but other than that they held up for 15+ years.

I recently picked up a pair of Wiley X with Green iridium lenses, I guess those MLF commercials work. Lol. Absolutely blown away by Wiley X… they’re nice to put on in day to day, but they absolutely shine on the boat. Super impressed with how much better I see into the water. You don’t have to worry about that glass shattering thing with these either, lenses meet ANSI safety standards, designed not to shatter on impact.

Something to consider if your not 100% set. My plan was to buy Costas again but after seeing the MLF commercial for the 198th time I decided to try out Wiley, very glad I did. Only time will tell if the hold up as well as Costa.

I think you have to put em both on and see which feels and fits your face better

Buda-I am not 100% sold on Costas. Case in point-I bought my wife a pair of Wiley X.....she's on the water WAY less than me so I thought a nice pair but a little less expensive would be appropriate. End result-she LOVES them. She couldn't find them the other day and forgot they were on her face. That's how light they are. I'm not rough on glasses (have had the same pair of Amphibias for 10+ years) so I thought I would splurge on a better quality Costa. I can definitely be talked into trying on a pair of Wiley's.
