Fish river cuts with traps and cranks. A-rig bite should be picking up

Where the river makes a turn. Look for the deeper water on the outside where the current is stronger.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

We were there a few weeks ago the day after the first cold front of the year. Temps the first morning were 51 at the ramp. For the 3 days we were there we had one fish flipping trees. Like mentioned above we found a solid numbers bite fishing the intersections of the canals and we could run that pattern with certainty. They ate moving baits as well as weightless senkos.....so we took the senko bite back to the trees to see if maybe we were fishing too fast. We could get bit but the fish were off the trees 5-10 feet. Big fish for our trip was a little bigger than 4 pounds. Best of luck.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Longhorn Lodge at Backwater Jack's last April. Unfortunately, at the time, the fishing s@#$ed. I wish you all of the luck!
If you have never been, make sure you go to the River Bend restaurant!

We’ll check the restaurant out. Thank you.
What we’re you trying that didn’t produce? Where did you fish?

What we’re you trying that didn’t produce? Where did you fish? April is one of the tougher months on Caddo. Water level and weather usually are crazy. Flukes and moving baits are still the go to stuff right now

What we’re you trying that didn’t produce? Where did you fish? The water was low and the vegetation was nasty. Tried flukes, soft plastic swimbaits, chatter baits, spinner baits, topwaters. Things that would get through the crud.
