Went up to Texoma this morning to get some gear out of the boat for our tarpon trip to Boca Grande tommorrow, so I thought I would drive out to Highport and Lighthouse to see where the water levels were at. I couldn't believe how high it was, a few guys were trying to launch from the ramp parking lot at both, which I'm sure worked out okay, it just was so out of the norm. The shoreside of the dock at the left side of the ramp looking out to the water was 30 yards from the shoreline. I heard the fish were still biting though, so if any of you go out this weekend good luck! And wish us luck catching some of the tarpon in Florida! Now imagine it is six or seven feet higher which is where it will whenever it crests in a few days.

Fished Texoma Tuesday and Wednesday. Between the time I parked the truck at Highport at 6:30am Wednesday and got back to it at noon the water was up about 14". Even at the current level you have to wade to the gas slips. Fishing was very good. Caught about 60 fish Tuesday and 50+ Wednesday. Only problem was getting on enought box fish for a limit. Everything was just to big. In my book that was a good problem! Fished both days with JD. Hardest working guide I have ever fished with!

Not a huge amount of trash in the water yet.. but its comming... Shane the water at Highport is very stained but not muddy brown...if that makes any sense. Mud line is behind the islands and half way to Soldier creek but the river channel in front of highport is fairly clean. Which area did we fish ??? cant tell ya or I'd have to kill ya The islands are still visible but but dissappearing more and more everyday. And Ken ,Thanks for fishing with me.. I had a great time with you guys
