I guess since the waters getting cooler the bigger ones are coming up. Where I've been catching 1-2lb, I'm now pulling up 3+. They were around 18". Had one that almost touched 14", but couldn't squeeze him enough. 5lb + always go back, but thought I'd see what y'all's take is on the 3lbers.

I very seldom keep any. If they go in my livewell and die, I’ll keep them as not to waste game fish.

I'm usually the same. My son likes them, so I'll keep him a few every now and then.

It's all relative to the fishery involved. Well-managed trophy bass ponds/lakes may require harvesting 3-5lb fish to really push for giants. But, for public fisheries a more conservative approach is usually better. Ken's 16 inch or less is a good ballpark for most places.

Zero. Only freshwater fish I eat around here is crappie. I'll keep specks, flounder and the occasional redfish to eat
