Awesome awesome! I’m stuck in a concrete jungle waiting to take my kayak specifically to LOP, pretty much grew up on it. Post all the pictures you got!
I’ve never been down that road, is it public? Is that launch spot good?

I’ve never been down that road, is it public? Is that launch spot good? I launched at the Co Rd 2315 Landing. I drove in from FM 729 via Co Rd 2316. It is a public road. Co Rd 2316 was paved and Co Rd 2315 was dirt. Great free kayak launch spot.

Such a beautiful place. Bucket list for sure.

Went back up to the north end and got another good one on the Booyah spinnerbait. Saw a few fingerling shad schools up the creek. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/10/full-3539-114359-img_5375.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/10/full-3539-114358-img_5378.jpg)

fishr3,
Looks like you were fishing out of a Native Ultimate FX12. Any details on how it performs?
Looks like you go out pretty "minimalist" . . . but with some electronics!
Nice rig. You appeared to cover a lot of ground!!!

I started kayak fishing years ago in a 14 foot Aquaterra Schimitar sit inside kayak and got used to the almost zero drag effortless paddling of a sea kayak. Since then I've fished out of several other lengths, widths, and types of kayak, but I still prefer a narrow fast design over the wide stable type. Having said all that, I love fishing out of the Utlimate FX 12. This is my first kayak with the comfy "lawn chair" seat and a width that was designed for standing. I've paddled at least 30 miles since I got the kayak last November 2020 and found it to be faster than I expected for a wide stable kayak. I have hip and back pains that are made worse by sitting for long periods in a sit inside kayak, but the Ultimate chair is way more comfortable and does not cause pain. I highly recommend the Native Ultimate for fishing. My other kayak is a Necky Manitou 13 sit inside kayak.
