In the movie, Polar Express, as the kids grew up, they started losing the ability to hear the bell ring and lost their belief in Santa. The older I get, the more jaded I get. Other than tinnitus, I don’t hear many bells ringing anymore.

The fact we can't trust the government is the real crisis. Making generic statements like this and using that as your guide post on whether to get vaccinated is called "research" these days. The govt performs, oversees or is in charge of many aspects of your daily life that make it something our grandfather's would envy in many ways- yet, you can't trust ANYTHING if it originates from the "government"? I guess you never fly on a plane or cross a bridge or look at weather forecast since it originates from a govt agency. I would have to say in general that our govt is typically very functional with a tendency to be highly inefficient or slow to react at times. However, that is usually by design. In a unique set of circumstances last year, the involved govt agencies mobilized, facilitated and funded the development of multiple paths to vaccines by looking at how to best optimize and avoid much of the normal "red" tape. Every step in the process was given top priority. Time was of the essence and I think the mission was highly successful given the real world data we now have. I guess this makes me a sheeple? The "science" part of creating the vaccine for Covid was pretty known last year from the outset- it was just a matter of tuning, testing and mass-production. How do you think that the vaccines all arrived pretty much at the same time? There's plenty of youtube videos, blogs and pseudo news sites that are willing to profit on your confirmation bias. Lots of material on the internet that the Earth is flat, yet people living a few thousand years ago disproved that common myth. Yet today, there are people that will argue otherwise. Wasn't there some flat earther that died in his steam powered "rocket" a couple years ago trying to prove it? He just refused to open his eyes to the truth all around him. I particularly like how the FBI, CIA, and the Pentagon has functioned in the last 10 years, and absent a man such as 45 we would be on the 2nd year of a 10 year process to get the vaccine.

The fact we can't trust the government is the real crisis. If it was only that simple but it’s not The American public needs to look in the mirror and face the facts that WE, as a people, have lost our way. Over the past 50 years, the positive social trends have reversed: membership in civic organizations has collapsed, political polarization has worsened, income inequality has widened, social trust has cratered, religious attendance is down, social mobility has decreased and deaths of despair have skyrocketed and on and on. Hell, you can’t even get on a airline flight anymore without being concerned that some nutter is going to wig out because they didn’t get a bag of peanuts.

I firmly believe that NO ONE knows the facts about this virus. I believe Americans should have the right to make the decision to get the vaccine or not.

The fact we can't trust the government is the real crisis. Not being able to trust the media is a much larger crisis. If you have an honest media, you can fix a corrupt government. If nobody can even agree on what truth and facts are, then nothing is fixable because nobody even agrees on what the problem is.

The biggest crisis I see is government corruption! The second is the American people believing a word any of them say.

As long as Humans have roamed this earth there has been deceitful and deceiving people. Why? POWER and GREED. And as long as they continue to roam this earth that’s the way it will continue to be. You can talk about how one day they will meet their maker and face judgement but in this life they don’t care. Always been that way, always will. The best any of us that are GOOD can do is quit paying attention to all the negatives and evils that are around us and pay attention to the things that are positive around us. Focus and enjoy YOUR life. Focus, enjoy and love YOUR family. Control the things that you can control and don’t worry about the rest .JMHO, , .
