First real sickness of my life (49 and in good health).

My brother retired, bought a place in Toledo Bend and was starting his retirement (58 yoa). Did not get vaccinated most likely due to what happened to me. In August him and his wife contracted the virus. Buried both in August and September, 2-weeks apart. Such a tragedy! Besides not having him here to fish with and learn the sport/recreation is very hard. The worse thing is watching what took place in a short period of time while being in the hospital. It was horrible seeing both of them ventilated and never getting better. The medical profession has no idea how to treat this virus (or will not be allowed to think outside the box) and standby watching people die on a daily basis. I do not blame the medical personnel what they are experiencing is unimaginable.

I believe in everyone’s right to chose to be vaccinated. I’m telling you to please consider what is happening and go get vaccinated. What happened to me was bad but seeing what my brother and sister-in-law experienced is so much worse! I believe 99% of the people on this board would help you in any way if they could and I don’t want to see one more decent person die from this BS. I almost died because of the vaccine; my brother did die because he didn’t have it.

Good perspective. Well said. Sorry for what you and your family have been through the past year.

Covid is not going anywhere it will be with us just like the flu..

That first sentence is the most ridiculous thing I have seen. Total BS. That type of information and you spreading it is the problem as much as the virus is.

The vaccine is giving you the proteins that have the virus...hence you may be a carrier..

Read the whole thing.. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...19-vaccinated-superspreaders/5475438001/

The CDC has acknowledged infected vaccinated people can potentially spread the virus to others. But these individuals aren't carrying more virus than the unvaccinated, according to recent data.

Operative word there coach that you left out was infected vaccinated people. Your initial statement did not read that way at all hence my reaction. Bottom line the more vaccinated people we can get the closer we can get to ending this whole saga.

Prayers for Mr Bingham’s family during this difficult time.
Please don’t think this virus cannot take your life because you have been vaccinated. Because it taking vaccinated lives as well every day.

How many are "so many"?

My best friend is a hospital administrator in another state. His system implemented a "get the vaccine or find another job" policy. They expect to lose 10% of their nursing staff. That means 90% will be vaccinated.

How many of those got a medical or religious exemption? Just so you know. All medical hospitals across the US have that policy. Because our government has threatened to not cover their Medicare and Medicaid claims if they don’t. So if you are a healthcare worker, where else are you going to work if you don’t get vaccinated? It’s a no win situation for them. They are helpless. Maybe you should attend one of the many protest put on by the health care community. There is a lot more than 10% that show up.

Guy I work with has a religious exemption from it to so he can't be fired for not getting it but this week they let him know he has to be tested 2 times a week minimum, that is BS and our freedoms are being taken mad While I got the stab way back in the winter and before it was required, thought in my situation it was the smart thing to do, however believe everyone should be allowed the freedom to their personal choice and not have their employment threatened by not being vaccinated.

Hate to hear this about your brother. Really sad. What makes you think your sickness was because of the vaccine? If you were in the hospital only a week after the vaccine with covid, you were not really "vaccinated" just yet. It takes several weeks for the immune response to develop.

Your correct about not being fully yet. I have another co-workers who's brother died a week after getting the moderna, just unfortunate timing. I wouldn't go J&J anyway its the least effective by far and seems to have the most potentially bad side effects especially for women.

Toofy, I never said I was fully vaccinated or that I had COVID. My body fought the vaccine causing clots and my platelets dropped dangerously low. When I was admitted that night my platelets were around 22,000 (normal is typically between 150,000 to 200,000). They put me on Heparin, an anticoagulant, which has show to lower your platelet level even more when used to treat blood clots associated with the Covid vaccines. My platelet level then dropped all the way to 8000. It took two weeks for them to get back over 100,000. Hope that better explains it. It was definitely caused by the vaccine.
