Same here. I love me some fishing but my 2003 will just do fine keeping me doing my hobby. I just keep updating the electronics which now are close to exceeding the engine and hull value. Next spring I will update everything to Mega.

You gotta have a good drug route to support that overhead,..

I was interested in an X3, like REALLY wanted one, right up until I saw the base price. My Haynie is gonna have to do for now. Engine has ~550 hours on it, when it pops, I will be buying a new 300 ProXS from a guide I know. He just has it sitting in his garage in a crate.

Just got back from South Padre Island and spent a day in the bay with a guide. His boat was a new Shallow Sport 24 Sport with a 250 Suzuki. Said the base price was 91k without a trailer and people think bass boats are expensive.

I finally blew up my two stroke yamaha last year, 5,600 hours. The nerve...
You can't buy a carb two stroke from anyone. Well poodle ducks. I can't run a four stroke on my scooter, it would sink it.

What I did find out, and was on the way, you can still buy carb two stroke motors, you just need to go to Mexico to get it. I was headed to tempico to get a new C90, when one popped up in Houma, I went for it instead.

One might think I ran my motors through mud or something. Nah...

Yeah, I've noticed that too. The one's that get my attention have Yamaha or Suzuki motors.

Strange. The Etec motors, while discontinued were probably the best on the market when they were made.

Not sure where you got your opinion from, but they've never been a reliable motor. Marketing hype aside, they were twitchy at their best. Yamaha and Suzuki killed them dead in the saltwater market, and Mercury polished them off in the bass boat business. Still a lot of dealers won't touch one in trade, and as you see, as fast a used boats sell now, the etecs sit the longest. not much of a secret.
