I have recently acquire an HDS Live 9 and HDS Live 7. I am interested in linking the devices and installing the point one function of the navigation for when the boat is not moving. What additional components do I need? Ive been told several different answers.

NMEA backbone and a free switch. No on off on NMEA or point 1

Get an ethernet cable long enough to connect the two units. The point 1 comes with a T so you will need one more T connector as the starter kit only comes with two and one will be used for power.
