I don't know if anyone here will care about this, but lake trout are awesome fish and high on my list of species I still need to catch. We have them a few places back in Washington, but you'll never see them in Texas as they need very cold water.

We use to go to Taylor Park Colorado Lake Trout fishing the last week in May. Lot of fun to catch. The largest I've ever caught was 27lbs.

They get up to the 20-30 pound range in Washington occasionally, but I think the average is 3 to 6 pounds. It's on my list whenever I move back.

Interestingly, lake trout are considered a highly invasive species in many areas. Especially Yellowstone.
