In a discussion this morning as to whether prays work, and are people just paying lip service to add to their post count on prayer requests. as for me, I've been on the asking end of those requests, and I'll tell you the support is just what the doctor ordered. as to weather they "work", that's not up to me. God has a plan, and it's not always what I want. As for organized religion, quit saying I don't go because churches are full of hypocrites. just say you don't want to go. Of course they're full of hypocrites and all other manner of sinners. that's the point of being there. we are all in need of God's mercy. thoughts?

Do as you wish. If you think it will make a difference, then what do you have to lose? I'm sure muslims pray to their god all the time.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Well said all of your post is in the Bible in one place or another

I will add all religions are not equal
Christians are the only ones who worship a living savior

The rest worship a dead man

Well Said Bob, especially the part of we are all sinners.

I say a prayer on the spot for every post that ask for them and many that don't.

I believe in the power of whatever is going to happen will happen.

Church is not a home for Christians, it is a hospital for sinners. And yes, prayers do work.

I refuse to be preached to by someone I know doesn't follow his own teachings. I'm not worried about all the people sitting in the congregation. The guy at the pulpit I hold to a higher standard. Just one of the reasons I have all but lost any trust I had in the church.
Instead of congregations excusing pastor pedophile and looking down on me because I refuse to participate. Clean up the church. Kick the perverts out from the pulpit. Get back to me when that happens. Then I may listen. Until then, I'll keep doing my own thing in regards to my faith. I believe God is more on my side of the subject than the side of the excuse makers.

In a discussion about God and prayer I once heard a man say, “I had druther believe and be wrong than to not believe and be wrong”. Those words kinda stuck with me through the years.

I believe prayer works. I don't know how it works, but I believe it does.
I pray because Jesus prayed and told us to also.
