What is a very good exterior paint that wont break the bank? Sherwin-Williams Duration is what I would like to go with but it's more expensive than drugs. Would prefer to have something that will last for at least 15 years, is that asking too much? Any painters in the TFF in the Houston area? Need a quote as well. Thanks in advance for any advice. cheers

First, if you become a member of the Texas Farm Bureau (I think it's $35 -$50 to join depending on where you live), you can get 30% off retail at Sherwin Williams... and they do check the card. Believe me, the discounts you get on hotels and other things make having that membership worthwhile. We used the Sherwin Williams basic exterior paint 12 years ago on a property and it still looks like the day we painted it. We also painted our house with Behr from home depot...again, still looks like day we painted it. We're about to redo the house, so we're having the outside painted a different color. I'm not sure who will go with on the paint, but both should be fine choices. We're having the work done this time around, though.

if you keep an eye out at SW they will offer the 30% off fairly regularly. at least they used to. I've not paid attention to the recent history.

For exterior paint it is usually best to break the bank, selections have consequences. I have had good results with Kelly Moore in the past.

my Ol Podnuh Max
painted his house with the paint they use for highway stripes
his theory was "If you can drive on it, think how long it will last on your house."

it was ok until you pulled in at night & the reflection off your headlights
would blind you

Good Idea, the wife is looking into it. We painting a different color as well. I painted the house last time but having a contractor do it this time, also replacing the roof. Thank you again.
