When we put in, the water was very murky by the ramp so we moved on up stream to look for clearer water and came to a lot of hydrilla in the middle of the river and all along the right bank. We dropped the trolling motor and commence to pitching JIGLYF jigs Leo was using 1/32 i was using 1/16. BOOM! Right away we started catching gillz. Leo was fishing left side casting under trees. Fish were hitting about a 1ft down. I was fishing the right side where there was more hydrilla and i was catching them down at about 7ft.. Funny how we can be fishing same river and catch fish at difderent depths. That goes to show theres more than one way to skin a 😺!
Most fish were released to swim another day.

Excellent! Fishing on the edges of vegetation beds helps all year round, but especially when its hot and sunny. the vegetation helps to keep the sun off the predator fish eyes and keep them a bit disguised to ambush whatever may get too close to that edge. One of my favorite patterns when I can find it. BTW, the purple-ish bluegill was a coppernose bluegill.They tend to get bigger, faster and fight like crazy! Wonderful vids and trips for y'all!
