Any of you guys using any other transom savers than the basic one that connects to the bottom of the trailer up to the lower until.
Like the Rite Hite motor or Motor mate transom mounts.
Thanks for you info and help!

In my opinion those aren't transom savers and only take pressure off your tilt trim. If it doesn't transfer weight/force to the trailer it is doing nothing to ease the strain on your transom while trailering. Of course most newer quality boats have a transom built strong enough that it is a non issue, but I would use a traditional transom save that attaches to the trailer on an older boat, I like Vee-Vee Inc ones like this https://www.veveinc.com/shop/Transom-Saver-TS-81-Frame-Mount-Straight-Tube.html

Thank you for you info, i was looking at the Motor mate from the video's it looks and seems to hold the motor real still with out any bouncing around. Much better than your basic transom savers.

Motor mate works great for me. I have had it for about 4 years now.

I would get a set of steering clips to go with the Motor Mate. The motor can twist with this unit. Like these. https://thmarinesupplies.com/collec...er-stop-outboard-hydraulic-steering-lock

I bought the DD26, so far 👍. The steering clips from them are light years better than the red plastic one that came with the boat

I have had a few mechanics tell me that I don’t need to use a transom saver. I use the one that fits from the roller on the trailer to the motor. Been using one on ever boat I have owned since the 80’s. To this day I have not had a transom issue. To me, 400 lbs hanging on the back of a boat bouncing down the highway can’t be good. At least when your running in the water the prop is pushing the motor against the hull. I will keep using one just because I want to. And it doesn’t hurt as long as your hull is tied down to your trailer.

On my boat, the motor never bounces or move in any manner. I use the cheap basic transom saver, motor to trailer.
