Fished a smaller lake yesterday and water temps were 80-82 degrees. I saw no signs of a turnover yet.

I saw fish turn over on the lake I have been fishing, but they were chasing shad.

Not sure if it was turnover or just the foam created by the countless ski boat wakes but at our place on Cypress this weekend, there was a ton of brown foam around our dock and I saw massive school of shad in about 10" of water around it as well. Sure looked like turnover to me.

Hope you caught them. I ran up the road a bit for a change of pace. Had a decent day.

The brown foam is probably caused by all the bass boats and overfishing the lake.

Last week Texoma had a sulphur smell on the south end but no signs visually of turnover. Yesterday the entire lake was brown, the worst was around Eisenhauer.

I was on Cedar Creek yesterday and I think some of the lake turnover started, foam/scum and particles in some of the water, looked like it may have been coming down from the north end....it was my first time on the lake so I dont know how clear it normally is but it sure did leave a scum ring on the boat........

So, is the rule of thumb..............water turning over, nasty brown smelly - don't fish it and if you do, fish ultra shallow?
Otherwise, go find better water?

just got told north of 154 bridge on fork is nasty due to turnover, wolf, williams and main lake in that area are still good.

surface temp was around 77 main lake, 78 or so in coves but no smell or signs of turnover.

Whitney looked to be turning over on the north end and up into the river. Nasty looking water and lots of bubbles and scum
