I love to fish but I’ll be the first to tell you I’m not the most knowledgeable about motors. I have a new skeeter with the 250 yamaha sho. I have been putting the yamaha additive in it. But it is $60ish dollars for 32 oz. can I get a substitute for that which cost less? Without hurting my motor.

I use 89 octane, Yamaha ring free and Yamaha fuel stabilizer in every fill up on a 2018 SHO, recommended by my dealer.

Techron is the closest but to be honest with you that’s enough additive for 320 gallons of gas. Cheap insurance. I’m on my fourth Yamaha running ring free and never even a hiccup. I use 89 octane, ring free and stabil marine.

I have been running them like I stole it for over 30 years. Never put nothing in the gas but Stabil gas treatment and filled up with Non-Ethanol fuel when possible.

Would not stop something that I started. Like said above 32 ozs will treat 320 gallons of gas that is about 20 cents per gallon and a 250 SHO is how much.

Use Ring Free Plus with 89 octane as stated above. I have started using the Yamaha stabilizer also but did not on my last 250 Sho and never had any issues. I agree with the guys above, it is what they recommend so don’t cut corners with that $20k engine.

I figure Yamaha knows more about their motors than I do so I use the Ring Free Plus that they reccomend.

Ringfree and Stabil Marine/Ethanol in every tank. I also don't put more gas in my boat than I can use in a few weeks. It is cheap insurance as far as I am concerned.

don't really know what ringfree is, but I just use Stabil and Ethanol gas as well. I also keep a minimal amount of gas in my boat.
