Snake oil but people will swear by it. Same old story, I've been using XYZ fuel additive for 20 years and never had a fuel problem. We'll guess what, I've never used fuel additives for even longer and never had a fuel problem.

Interesting. So you’re saying you don’t use something like Bio-Bor, or star-tron or Sta-bil?

I run seafoam in the gas since it can be 3-4 weeks between getting it on the water. keeps stuff clean and is a fuel preservative.
I use seafoam or lucas ethanol stabilizer in the gas jugs here at the ranch, they get hot and sit sometimes between using the gas in them.

if you get out once or twice a week then no you probably don't need anything but if like me it can be weeks between trips then stabilize the fuel.

10% ethanol can start phase separation in 9-10 days and that can't be reversed with anything.

How long does it take for ethanol to separate from gas?
Regular gasoline has a shelf life of three to six months, while diesel can last up to a year before it begins to degrade. On the other hand, organic-based Ethanol can lose its combustibility in just one to three months due to oxidation and evaporation.Aug 25, 2020

I use zero additives. I have never had anyone be able to explain how any additives actually work. Read the ingredients then explain how that helps preserve the fuel.

Hmmmmm. Ok. Wow. I didn’t know. I admit I don’t know much on the subject. I fish pretty regularly from about February to November.

I use Sta-bil for the same reason's Hop mentioned. sometimes my boat can sit for a few before I get back in it.
other than that, I've never used any other product...…..

But what exactly do you think sta bil does? Read the ingredients and explain how it stabilizes fuel or helps at all. The main active ingredient in most additives is alcohol or kerosene.
