White Rock Lake in Dallas has a 10 HP motor limit, except for the sailing clubs Commitee boat. A trolling motor would get you around the shore pretty good.

Check into Lake Boykin Springs. Back when I was at SFA we would put a jon boat with a trolling motor in there and had good luck.

Any others?

I'm considering building a 'jon boat to bass boat' and I'm looking into where that would be feasible to use.

You can fish some mighty productive waters on Lake Athens out of a non-motorized boat.
Did it for two years when I first moved to Athens -- 2 man Bass Buster with a trolling motor
I just started putting together a 14 foot aluminum with a TM only for quick trips in the mornings and evenings --- then up and sold my house in Athens
Maybe I can use it on Fayette down here near Houston

Purtis Creek is the way to go! Big Bass, nice swimming area and good camping!! Make sure you put your food away at night though... The raccoons like to come out and get a midnight snack!!!

Another vote for Purtis Creek. I was surprised at how peaceful and quiet the lake is, and the campsites are very nice.

Marine creek reservoir is a no wake lake. Only trolling motors. It's mostly kayaks and SUPs. It's a small lake, but it's the one I go to when my son is with me.
*edit*
It's in ft worth close to eagle mountain and lake worth

Also its an open hull lake now, if your vessel has a livewell or bilge they won't let you on, its basically restricted to canoes, kayaks, john boats and float tubes, show up in a bass boat and they will send you home.

Forgot about Tyler State Park... They allow motors but have to be under 5 hp. It's been awhile since I was there but I remember it being nice.

Per TPWD ..Tyler SP allows "motors but has a 5mph speed limit".. a h.p. restriction is not stated.
