I have been super excited to move to Texas after bass fishing here during my childhood and remembering how friendly everyone was, and how fun the bass waters were. I am still so excited to meet some new friends and get on the water for some new memories while I wait to do some shopping for my bass boat.

Maybe its just too hot right now in TX to get a reply for a fishing partner to go to Lake Ray Roberts or Lewisville. But, I wanted to try again...and I hope when it starts to cool down I can find some takers. I mentioned I would pay for all the gas..make the food..bring the drinks. But I will mention it again...I will buy the GAS, bring some great munchies, beer or sodas....fishermans preference and hopefully make for a great fishing companion.

If that doesn't work I am looking for a bass guide to pay to learn lake Ray Roberts and Lewisville while I shop for my boat and complete some things in my new house first. If you know any good guides..let me know please...thanks.

I am looking forward to becoming friends and hoping to find some fishing companions while a member on this site. Looking forward to start my new adventure in TX and hook that first bass in a long time.

I do appreciate your response Sawyer...even though you are from CA like me...you reminded me of the Texans I remembered from my childhood bass fishing trips.

You are very welcome Adam. I hope you find a partner. If you can't, maybe try talking to James Biggs on this forum. I think he guides on most of the DFW lakes including Lewisville and Ray Roberts.

And once you get a boat look into Mr. Donald Harper's lake chips. It would really help in learning and breaking down a lake.

Welcome from another CA transplant!

Ray Roberts (aka Ray Bob) can be humbling, it's my home lake and I've been fishing it for close to 3 years now. I consider myself learning the lake. Right now the lake and many others are in that summer funk. You can get bit, but man is it tough.

Once it starts to cool down, you'll see traffic on here about the lakes.

I usually have a boat full when I go, but I'll keep you in mind when the back seat is empty.

PS: If you haven't already...venture down to the Lounge and introduce yourself. There's a mandatory quiz that you must fill out and it makes for a fun few days of posts. roflmao

I second contacting James Biggs for classes in your area if you are wanting to learn how to find and target fish around DFW. A lot of guides can take you to show you spots but if you are wanting to learn how to be a better angler and how to find and catch them on your own without the guide, give him a call.

I teach similar classes and do guide trips in the Sam Rayburn area when you are ready to venture that way.

Believe he lives west of Fort Worth so sure he is.
