Whenever we make a trip to the beach we always try to do a little crabbing during the trip. It's relatively easy, cheap & fun - a great activity for the whole family! Plus you can't beat fresh crab! Bait a crab trap......adhere to Regs.

Chicken legs. Tie them to a small nylon rope and throw in the water. Tie it to a stick so they dont pull the string away and pull in slowly. Its good to have a net so you can get them before they let go of the chicken. Make sure you know how to measure keepers. There is an app for that.. Texas Outdoor Annual.

Nice video. I love crabbing. I have trolled for them on slow days, or hot sunny days. Put a chicken leg or other bait on a hook and weight, cast into the channel, reel slowly across the bottom. They will attack and hang on until you get them to the net. I like them boiled and picked, or barbecued. For BBQ pull off the carapace, clean out the lungs, wash, sprinkle with BBQ rub, place on grill and cook til done (not long). Great taste, messy fingers.
