It is simple evolution, it becomes part of the deeply ingrained behavior over millenniums. To survive animals through evolution has learned man can reach out to kill them simple because of a thumb or later the ability to reach out with weapons. In your sample deer know how far and fast a wolf can run. They also know if any of the herd is old, injured or young and will be the next meal. Also, do not apply your theory to crocodiles or hippos.

When I saw the title to this I thought this might be a third or fourth grade homework assignment from some woke school. Animals teach their offspring much as we teach (or are supposed to) teach ours. Watch a mother animal correct their young when they do something stupid. It boils down to eons of knowledge that pretty much has become instinct.

So an alligator that has a heritage that goes back millions of years has taught its offspring to fear humans?

And sharks...great whites are not afraid of us. In water, we are slow and easy pickin’s. Big cats, polar bears, and grizzlies are also not afraid of humans. And packs of wolves.

Ultimate predator. Needs no reason to kill. The ability to reason and decide without emotion.

Because the LORD mandated it. When the earth was flooded and all but Noah and his immediate family were killed, the earth and it's ways changed. Prior to the flood, animals did not fear man, and man did not eat meat.
Genesis 9:1-4 1Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. 3Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. 4"But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
Yes you can trust the Government, just ask the Indians.

In water, we are slow and easy pickin’s. Big cats, polar bears, and grizzlies are also not afraid of humans. And packs of wolves. Have had many Brown Bear encounters and almost all have run away. The few that were curious left after gunfire. Works the same way with humans, I see a bunch of hoodies in mid July I get an itchy trigger finger. From May-Sept sun hoodies are about all I wear while fishing.
