I’m headed up there in a couple weeks and was hoping to get into some trout. Has anyone had any success up there? Any pointers?

I don't think there will be any trout this time of year. Might want to rethink what to fish for.

They stock every 2 or 3 weeks, year-round. And you can find holdover fish, if you now where to look.
The battle right now is the heat and the warmer water. Early morning fishing is best, and you can find an evening bite, too.

Been years but I used a spinning rod with 4lb line and a small inline spinner. We were by "Old state park dam". Caught several trout and one LM. It was late October. If I remember we had to remove the barbs from our hooks.
Always wanted to go back with my flyrod now that I am semi proficient.

Get the smallest hooks line and pretend you are fishing for bluegill.

Look for an area where there are small waterfalls going into deeper pools. That aeriates(spelling) the water and the trout will go there to hold and hide from the heat. Remember 2 things: One get the day parking pass. Two: you must be barbless. Tight lines and Good Fishing to you..

Drive through the park to the second bridge by the fly shop and canoe rental. They will hit power bait, salmon eggs and rooster tails. If you rent a canoe or kayak and you can go down hitting the holes. If power bait/salmon egg, toss it in hole and watch your line.

As stated above, you need barbless hooks and the daily parking pass ($10/day). And remember your OK Fishing License.
