There used to be an active list, but the keeper of the list is too busy to run it any longer.

How is anyone going to know the exact number of guides on lake Fork unless you call all of the ones that have guided out there and ask them if they are still guiding. If you do that,Douglas J, you will have your answer, otherwise the total number is just a guess.

I would think that it is better to ask who are the best guides out there that you would recommend. Many people on here have used guides on Fork and can tell you if they were good or not. I have used several myself over the years. I would rather have that information than just the total number of people guiding out there.

That is why I asked why you are asking for the total # How is that information useful? Are you planning on setting up a "guide" tournament and need to know how many to expect??? LOL

A current list of names and phone # would be better than just knowing the total # that are still guiding out there.

If hiring a guide at Fork these might be warning signs you should look into.

1. They do not have a 903 area code.
2. Every picture on their website or social media is of them holding fish not the client.

The 903 area code can be misleading. People move and keep their cell phone number. Several long time guides on Fork have a non 903 area code

This!!!!!

I always recommend a handful of guys that I know personally or know how they treat their clients. Ive heard some horror stories about guides LATELY front ending their clients and pull up on holes and catch most of the fish and the big fish normally. And like Mark said, you can look at these guys Facebook or Instagram pages and can tell real quick who they are.

And the guys coming from out of state claiming to be guides is getting a little ridiculous too!

Lighten up Doug.....It was just a joke, the guide tournament.

You mentioned there was a list of guides on Fork kept at one time and that is what I was thinking when you asked your question.

Wouldn't it be better to have a list of current guides and their phone # instead of just having a total # of people still guiding out there?

That is the reason I asked why you just want the total #.

I did not mean to upset you.

You are somewhat aggressive on your keyboard.

There used to be an active list that was kept by someone at Lake Fork. It was updated frequently and had contact info.

If you must know, an acquaintance is researching the subject and they do not fish nor have any connections to the fishing community. I know there used to be an active list kept of guides on Fork.

So there ya go cowboy gumshoe

I don't need a list. I already know the ones I would call for a trip out there.

For some reason I'm thinking Lake Fork Marina used to have a complete list of guides, not just ones running out of their marina.

That is part of why I mentioned the 903 area code.
