My biggest bass on Grapevine was on a buzzbait. Have not fished one lately been fishing a PopR more but need to break them out again soon.

We used to kill em on buzzbaits but I’m convinced fish are just too weary of them now due to all the fishing pressure.

I haven't thrown one in a while but I've caught so many out of stock tanks and gov. lakes with them that both thumbs hurt to lip fish.

Our neighbor at the lake swears by them in the winter reeling slow, where they stay underwater.... This time of year on super calm mornings and evenings is when I like to fish with them at the lake.

trick is to tune them. Tie it to your truck antennae do 75mph for about 30 miles.... it'll get that irresistible squeak, that bass can not help but attack.
