Bass Pro has the Shimano Calcutta B reel for about $240.00. Good crappie reel.  Side Note. Sometimes you can catch a sale on them for $200.00.

I saw those on eBay but they are all shipping from Japan. I’d hate for it to take months to get. I may have Togo with some 100’s if I can find those.

The 50s have a real low gear ratio and a small spool. They don’t reel in very much line per handle turn but that is probably OK for Crappie fishing.
The eBay reels from Japan are air shipped so they have a reasonable shipping time. The stuff from China is shipped by boat and takes a couple of months.

I have been using Abu Black max for several years now. Good little reels for what I do. Not nearly as expensive a shimano products.
I don't cast, everything vertical with pitching occasionally .

I use Shimano Castaics. They have the thumbar clutch release. One hand operation.

I use Shimano Core mg50’s………..lol
Something I had left over from my bass fishing days and they have lasted forever.
But any of the Shimano reels in a 50 size are excellent for crappie fishing.
The Truth is six of the seven Dwarfs are not Happy!
