What do yall know about Suzukis. A buddy of mine is thinking of purchasing one and asked me what I thought of them. I know absolutly nothing about them. I know to steer clear of the Force, but havn't herd anything about these engines. popcorn

I have a 2005 df140. Queit, fuel efficent, plenty of power and reliable. (180hrs, no break downs. looking for some wood to knock on)Only complaint. SERVICE. Limited number of dealers. Tell you buddy, in my opinion, stay away from Tracker or Travis Boating centers. According to all Suzuki guys, you need to have records from a certified Suzuki Tech to maintain warranty all though it is not rocket science to change oil, plugs, fuel filter and impeller.. My .02....

What horse power is he looking at? I would love to get him into a Tohatsu or a Nissan. PM me and I will be happy to talk with you or him about the two outboards.

I have two Suzuki's a DF-115 on a 24 Foot Pontoon Boat and a DF-140 on a 19 foot Center Console. Both motors have been excellent with absolutely no problems from the manufacturer. However, Toledo Bend is our normal lake and we have had bent prop shafts on both of them. The DF-140 was able to be repaired in 1 week. However, the DF-115 took 6 weeks to get the parts in. I am not sure if it was Suzuki or the dealer. My belief is it was the dealer and not Suzuki. I would not hesitate to purchase another Suzuki if a 4 stroke was required.

My brother-in-law has a 89 115hp 2 stroke. He does NOT believe in maintenance. Other than a starter solenoid (fixed by me) & 2 damaged lower units (fixed by Rockwall Marine) it's been a reliable motor.

all in all, I like what I here about these engines.
This will be his first boat and he is working with a budget. The boat he has is eye on seems to be a solid boat, other than the Suzuki...thanks guys!!!

Suzuki make a DT150 (carb) and a DT150S (EFI). If it is the EFI. Run-run-run away as fast as you can. Wise words of wisdom.

I think it was the DT 150, not the S. My buddy went to give the guy a check, and he had sold the boat out from him...maybe a blessing in disguise....

I'm looking for a 100HP out board motor. Any brand. I'd like to find one I can rebuild as long as it has compression. I don't want to spend a lot of money but if someone has a running 100HP outboard motor for sale please shoot me a price. Thanks
