Griddles are great, I have a 36" Nexgrill 4-burner, but it doesn't replace grilling for some stuff, particularly steaks. When I do steaks, I smoke them for a bit on my Camp Chef pellet grill until internal temp of about 110-120 then sear them on the gas burner that's on the side of my smoker. I've tried, but just not as good when done on the griddle. Smash burgers are awesome, though!

Griddles are badass, I want one. Smash burgers are the only way to cook burgers at home. We don't grill traditional burgers at our house any more, just smash burgers cooked in cast iron skillet.

My neighbor has one, been trying to get me to buy one all summer. They use the hell out of it.
I've just got a big rectangle griddle I set on my grill...

Get the dimensions and have a local welding shop make you one. Nearly bet they've made something similar in the past. This shop here in WF probably could do it, just do it with plate steel, and have some sides welded to it. My FIL had them make me a new grate for Christmas. https://theburnshopwf.com/grill-grates/custom-grill-grates-2/

I have a cast iron griddle that fits on the gas grill but its a fraction of the size. Works ok. Just not the same.
Ps - I have a small charcoal tabletop grill that I like to do steak on and an old smokey for my BBQ.
