I've been fortunate enough to fish with and hang out off the water with quite a few of the bigger name bass pros. Most are awesome to be around. Never asked them for anything period. Never will ask for anything. They are just people like the rest of us. One of the guys has given me enough Tungsten flipping weights I dont think I'll ever buy anymore. I can tell yall one thing, if there isn't a tournament on the line some of those guys can put back some alcohol haha.
I can backlash toilet paper.

Is it strange for a grown man to pursue another grown man (fisherman) for his autograph or a picture? I just have no desire to chase another grown man down to get him to sign my shirt, or a hat or my moob. Is wanting to do this type of thing normal? Can I have your autograph Frank?

Think it depends on the motivation. I've read/watched/heard stories of guys that make a point to seek out an idol that inspired them to beat an addiction, depression, self doubt, etc. In those cases I think it's reasonable.
Without some kind of meaningful motivation other than collecting signatures, it does come off as an odd obsession for an adult.

Heck, I sit at ATT Stadium watching the Cowboys and I can’t even grasp the concept of wanting to wear another mans jersey like all the guys around me are. 🤔🤷🏻♂️🤪

I dont really see it as being lame to be a fan of an Angler or any other profession that merits the term "fan boy". That being said I have met alot of cool people and had opportunities given to me because I was willing to be extroverted and shake someone's hand. Thinking lesser of another person for being a huge fan of anyone Is an ultimate debbie downer vibe haha

I have a couple books written by professional anglers that I wouldn’t mind having signed (Roland Martin, Ike, Denny, KVD), but I would never ask these guys to sign them out in public. My wife did some work for Stone Cold SA and had him sign an autograph on a CD, I threw it away. Prob should have kept it, I had no clue that weirdos liked wrestling that much. Wifeys met quite a few famous people and I’m a “whoopty tee doo” about them. She had a hockey player (Brent Burns) last year at the office, he’s about the only one I’ve been impressed with.

I don't see an issue with asking one of your heroes for an autograph. I have one autographed ball cap from Bill Dance. I got it the day I fished with him a few years back.
I may ask Dr. Bean for his tomorrow at lunch.

But if I was smart, I’d get her to get something signed by everyone of them, just for hopes that someday the autograph would be worth $$$.
