No vegetation in the river or anywhere else on Whitney to speak of. Certainly no pads… You can launch @ Kimball Bend Park(174 bridge) and you are right in the area. You can go several miles up river from here also. The only fish I’ve caught in this area has been pitching soft plastics in the stumps and brush piles that line the river.

Or you can go on up river to Hamm Creek.

For bass, target isolated boulders, and where the bank changes from mud to rock or gravel. Those transition places seem to hold a few, and they like the shade under the boulders. Fish any fresh feeder creeks that you come across.

You can go up river from Hamm Creek about 6 miles if you stay in the channel. Then it gets too skinny around the island.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Ok, thanks for all that. I've enjoyed the stripers on the main lake but the rest don't sound so hot.. Need some crappie spots there too.
