My Power tilt and trim will not go all the way up. It goes as far as the 2 shafts will take it, but once the main rod is supposed to kick in and raise it all the way up, it will not work, the rod doesn't engage. I have bled the unit and added fluid, in fact, the fluid will blow out if I take the cap off of the reservoir. Has anybody had or seen this problem? Ideas on how to fix it? I called a couple of boat mechanics but they are 6 weeks out from looking at it. Thanks for your help!

Same here, I rebuilt mine myself. I bought all new Yamaha seals from boats.net and rebuilt the unit. Not too hard and need a gland seal wrench (didn't like others they use a chisel... take lots of pics and take your time.

Ive rebuilt both cylinders and bled it. Still can’t get it to work

Not sure what the issue is with your unit, but there are more valving and seals where the pump mounts up, I took everything apart off the engine and did every seal, and cleaned all the parts.

Have you been able to add fluid while the engine is tilted all the way up (e.g., where you can engage the safety lever to hold it up)? Is the fluid overflowing frothy with bubbles or smooth? I am guessing there could be a bad seal in the tilt ram, but I wonder if you simply have not been able to get enough fluid into the motor (not just the reservoir). When I flush/bleed my system, I keep a tube in the reservoir, extending out to my container of new fluid. I allow the engine to trim all the way down to expel old fluid, and then use the switch to move it up, while continually adding fluid into the reservoir so the pump could suck up what it needed. I know you mentioned that it was overflowing, but it may be worth a quick shot at getting it high enough to insert a tube into the reservoir, then push in fluid while pressing the trim up button to see if the motor will draw in more fluid and keep moving up???
