Work all the time with family, I think what the Lord meant was to be there and spend time at least on Sunday, we have to work
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

I've heard it said, "If you work with your brain, sabbath with your hands. If you work with your hands, sabbath with your brain."

From the time I was 16 until I was 30 I worked on more Sundays than I didn't. Just the nature of grocery and hotel businesses. .

I thought those who worked on the sabbath were to be put to death? Serious question.

I'm asking this in all seriousness. If you dont think you should work of sunday why is it that soon as church is over you race to every restaurant in town?????? Those people's sin of working is not on your hands? Or you just turn a blind eye to it because its convenient????

Under the Mosaic Law, the Sabbath was the last day of the week, or Saturday. Sunday is the resurrection day that Christians recognized as a day of worship.

In my house growing up there was no work being done on Sunday. Just what my hardcore Baptist father believed.

I do some things on Sunday that would be considered work, but I always worship on that day. My thoughts are that some may think one way, and some another, and each group should respect the other.
The big thing for me would be that my salvation is not at risk if I work or not. That was taken care of for me on the cross.
One Scripture that might help explain it is Colossians 2:16-17 "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." (NIV)
And, I will be off in a few minutes to take care of the worship part. . This. Every day is a day of worship. No day is more significant than the other.

Depends on your definition of Work. Is going fishing fishing work? Could be. Is doing something you love to do work?

Whole different era these day, back in the day when your work day is M-F 8-5 you might could argue your point. Now people work as scheduled to keep their jobs and provide for their families. If providing for your family is a sin you might dig deeper in your bible for verses to validate your point!

I thought those who worked on the sabbath were to be put to death? Serious question. Jesus fulfilled the law. So that's old testament. Does the new testament nullify the old?
