TifTuf has been around since the 90's. I have an area around my AC I want to try it on that is pretty shady. But like I mentioned it's tuf to find here and I only need like 10 pieces. I've been quoted truck load (18 pallet only at $230 per) Lawn care is a passion of mine and something I really enjoy and nerd out on it. I am no expert so take what I say with a grain of salt. I do my best to recommend box store or products you don't have to scale and backpack spray as I know most of y'all aren't into it that much. But more than happy to run down that rabbit hole anytime someone wants as I'm a squirter. Just a mater of time before greenen goes backpack and we discuss it more. He's pretty dedicated which makes me happy.

I use Image on my Bermuda yard, I use a pump up sprayer and spot treat areas. I used Sedge Ender several years ago, and really think it might've worked better, but can always find Image.

I applied Image maybe 2 months ago, and it did kill what was growing, but there's a bumper crop of it growing right now.

Sedge Ender is by far a better product. But it's Sulfentrazone and you do not want to spray that on Bermuda, and specially St. Aug once day time temps start going over 90 or it will discolor pretty bad. It's a better spring time application. Right now use Sedge Hammer which is much safer to use in the summer. You can get a 2pack on Amazon for $25.00. Comes pre-measured. Empty a pack in a gallon sprayer and go to town spraying sedge.

Really good rain chances early next week. Let see a full send of fertilizer and fungicides apps this weekend. Post it up.

I got fert and fungicide down the past couple days. Experimenting on a few things this year. Trying to keep it low at 1/2". Got it under suppression with a growth regulator and the Bermuda is not liking it. First mow in 14 days and my app rates were on point. Going to let let come out of suppression and take it to 3/4".It's not bad, but not as lush as I'm used to. I'll get it though.

Twice a week
Depending on number of stations try and start to water around 1 am
sprinkler heads that pop up and dont move would need to run 8 min twice
rotors will need 22 min twice
tuna cans place between heads will give you how much water you applied.
you are wanting to acheive 3/4 inch per zone twice a week
with bermuda or zoysia will need a 1/2 twice a week

Pretty much what I do. Two settings per zone. First setting 8 min to get ground soft and second setting 20 minutes to soak deep. I start at 4am and all are done by 7am. I have a small yard with only 4 zones.

Derek,

Can you tell me what the weed below is and what I can spray it with now to kill it? Thanks in advance.

That appears to be Dallisgrass. Will wait for Derek to chime in on the best eradication/control methods. May also want to list what type of lawn grass you have in order for him to give a proper recommendation.

I had something similar in my yard...Derek suggested IMAGE and it worked well to reduce it. I started late...so I have a few more applications before my yard is all grass again.

Donโ€™t have much of it but want to knock it out with spot spraying, no need to blanket spray.

That's goose grass. Sedge Ender is your best route which is Sulfentrazone. It also has some Prodiamine pre emergent mixed in. Add 4oz to a gallon pump sprayer. Spot spray, then do it again in 30 days. If you spray in this heat you probably will get some yellowing of your turf. But it will mow out in one to two mowings. So no big deal spot spraying. It's safe to use in Bermuda or St Aug.

Another option is to get a paint bush and pour some 41% glyphosate in a jar and paint brush each one. Kinda of a pain if you have a lot. And there are studies that they are finding goose to be round up resistant.
