Here I am, back again. Now on my 6th kayak over the last 15 years. At age 82 (don't laugh) I just bought an Intex Excursion Pro 12 ft inflatable. The use will be small ponds and shallow flats. No white water and any other craziness at this time.
It's my first inflatable and was purchased because my old back has given out. I needed easy transport and lightweight. My three trial trips so far showed me that I like the yak, but hate the seat.
Looking on Amazon, I find dozens of seemingly appropriate extra-padded yak seats. 99% of them do NOT give seat and back dimensions? I am looking for a heavily padded, LARGE seat and HIGH back. I'm 6'1 and 250 lbs, so a 10x16 stadium seat doesn't cut the mustard. Any specific suggestions appreciated.
I think a seat that is at least 16 wide by 16/18/20 deep/long, with a back that is at least 20 inches high would do the trick. Thanks very much. The oldest yakker here today, I suppose! regards, richg99

Congrats on being the oldest (or one of the oldest) yakker on the board. It's a badge of honor that you should wear proudly! My kayaks have proprietary seats, so I don't have experience with aftermarket seats. However, your post caused me to do some googling out of simple curiosity. In doing so, I ran across this seat. It has storage underneath and measures 19.5" deep, 17.5" wide and 28" high. These dimensions seem comfortable to me and the storage is a nice bonus. https://www.riverboundsports.com/aquaglide-framed-seat/The above seat is not padded (although it looks comfortable). However, you can always pair it with a seat pad.

I did modify it with a high back automobile lumbar support from Walmart All the best in finding something you like. Inflatable kayak seats definitely benefit from this easy $15 modification + a couple of 3ft long zip ties. (both found at Wmart) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-30144-79741-seatsupport.png)

hey richg, didn't have any idea you were that old! You've inspired me! Been reading your posts here and on TKF for a long time. The seat situation is a tough one to fix on any soft bottom inflatable.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I am that old. I guess I am blossoming in my later years. I did my first acting (one-time only) at age 75; Bought my first skeet/trap gun at age 80 ( I shoot 3 times a week now), and bought my first 3D printer at age 81.
You ain't dead until you're dead.
Mike, that seat you recommended looks great. However, it is Out Of Stock now, just like so many things. I did find some hidden dimensions on the Amazon items I was looking at. For now, I've ordered a Thick Padded Yak seat. If that doesn't work out, I certainly would look again at the one MIke recommended. regards, thanks, and ...Keep on Keeping on! .....richg99
