Looking for your opinions on good ul rods ... I just purchased a st croix avid 6’ulf but am waiting for it to get here ... it is going to have a stradic 1000 fl paired with it ... I am just fishing small creeks and rivers alone with some small farm ponds and will mainly be using jigs with gulp minnows, trout magnets and panfish magnets

6' Duck Commander light action crappie rod - best I've ever used to cast light lures and not expensive: $37 s/h included
Shakespeare micro series - like he said.

I use the St. Croix light, fast 6’6” and they work great. I have used a friends G Rod and a couple of different G Loomis and I wouldn’t trade for either one
I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

I just bought(maybe the last) St. Croix Mojo Inshore Medium Lite rod. Love it. Had to re-learn how to cast! Almost all the manufacturers of rods like these are out of stock. Was looking for a similar rod in fiberglass, but nobody has any. Falcon makes a glass/carbon composite, but none anywhere. Good luck. IslandJim

The Academy H2O (blue) rods are pretty good for lightweight presentations.

Shakespeare micro series for cheap at Walmart That’s all I use in the creek Mainly for sandies during the spring run and trout These are what I use as well. You can get them for less than 20 bucks if you wait for a deal. I keep with 4lb line and one with 6 lb line and have no trouble tossing small jigs with either.

I have a St.Croix panfish series which I really like. I also have two Daiwa KAGE ultra lite rods which are more on the high end side. I like them a lot bur my only issue with them is they are super thin and so you need to be careful when you stow them etc. They are better than the St.Croix panfish series but if I had to do it again, I would spend the extra money and buy the St.Croix Premiere ultra lite rod like Vogey has. Most people wont pay the price like I paid for the Daiwa KAGE rod $250 plus let alone the St.Croix premiere ultra lite rod which is about $100 more. You definitely get what you pay for.
