Do you guys use different pull cords for your Ultrex or just the standard cord. Got a broken one and wondering what to replace it with. Looking for the strongest cord that fits the Ultrex whether it's stock or something else. TIA.

I use the T&H Marine G Force Cable-go to their website. Works well with my Ultrex

G FORCE or Big D both are cable and not a cord

Ultrex cable on mine broke, too. I have the TH Marine on my Fortrex, luckily the break on the cable was only 1" from the mounting ring, so I just shortened the cable by am inch and put it back into place.

G Force is the only way to go. Academy has them in stock and has the best price I found.

Rule of thumb is they all break at one point so keep a spare 😂

I use the G-Force. Had to replace it last year because the handle broke.

My cable has broken twice. Both times I cut off the frayed end and reinserted it into the barrel and tightened the two Allen set screws. No need to waste money.

Same here. It was getting pretty short.

Ah. Yeh. Once it’s repaired a few times, it does get short. roflmao
Depending on where mine breaks the next time, I might need to go to Ace Hardware and buy another 3 ft of coated cable. It’s cheap. I did this to every troller I’ve had. I was actually impressed with the Ultrex hardware my old Fortrex, Maxxums, and Edge were rope.

My cable broke today. Right near the clevis so should be an easy repair. What’s the trick to routing the cable back into place. Hard to see inside the body. I’ll pull the head unit off tomorrow and see if that makes it easier to see what’s going on.

Partially deploy the motor, you’ll be able to see where it goes. It’s an easy fix on the bank of the lake.

Yes. However, make sure you run under the bar. Other wise, it won't pull the spring mechanism forward. I 'fixed' mine in the dark, then had to 're-fix' it on the dock of a lake...
