I like painted brick. I'm building a new house right now that the brick is getting painted.

Mine is painted, it's fine I think if you have some texture that breaks it up a bit like the stone. I have a rental that I would consider painting because certain brick colors are dated.

White painted brick is the in thing to do right now. Lots of existing homes around our neighborhood are doing so with new ones coming up building them that way, too. Who knows how long it’ll last. Black and White colors……does it have anything to do with racial injustice or display of unity? noidea

This is one of my rentals and I would seriously consider painting if I wanted to get max dollars for it

I don't see anything wrong with that brick. I am also not one to jump on the "in" thing of today.

We do it all the time. A lot of flippers do it because the existing brick looks bad because of color or condition of the brick. When they go to sell painted brick beings more money than existing ugly brick. Just depends on the neighborhood really. I probably wouldn’t want to be the first guy to paint my brick in the neighborhood. However, if there are others near by then shouldn’t be an issue. Here’s one we did for an investor in Weatherford. Turned out great in my opinion. We have also painted a ton of personal homes. Everyone’s situation is different. As a side note I’ve never painted brick to cover up anything structural. It’s only been done for cosmetic reasons only. I don’t think that’s a common reason to paint brick.

If you are speaking of my rental, it has 1995 written all over it. In this house market I wouldn't spend a nickle and sell it, I think think in a tougher market it would need a bit of face lift and painting brick is an easy one.

90's is the next style to be the "in" thing again. Haven't you seen all of the horrible 80's trends over the last few years?

might be one of the dumbest things you will ever do if you got a wife....it will cost you a lot of money because she's gonna want to change colors every 5 years or so just like they do with every room in the house.....

I believe the worst trend is white cabinets, hell it's a scam. The builder uses paint grade and can charge more than stain grade lol. I'm hearing that is fading out a bit.

Meh, we just had ours repainted after 14 years. It does cost a bit more to paint cause there is a bunch of it.

I think it does improve some older homes. We built 4 years ago when it was just becoming popular on new homes like the white kitchen cabinets were. I could not imagine painting brick on a new home and I`m not a fan of white kitchens either. I love the look of our brick and rock .

I would just hope you don't live next door to me. It not only decreases the value of your house but MINE TOO.
If you are in an older run down neighborhood it might not make any difference. If you are in a decent neighborhood DO NOT paint the brick.
